| | I like to hum! :D | ] | Nothing too eventful happens in the summer - Satosi is always nearly as busy as it is during the spring at this time of year, but the flow starts to stem towards August, and daytime is always slow anyway.
The brat really was sick a while back, but otherwise everything else is progressing along pretty well. We have a new maiko by the name of Honshou Chizuru who shows a bit of promise. A very small bit of promise, but hey, I never give up what I win in a poker game.
I wonder if I can convince Naruto to become a maiko. That would be an adventure...

Things are just going relatively well; nothing too much to report.
And Shizune's letting me drink again, in moderation. Damn you, moderation. Any sake is good sake, of course, so my life has suddenly brightened, as far as lives go.
...however, I do feel like harassing someone, for lack of anything better to do. Where the hell is Jiraiya when you need him? |

| | Hinata is playing the shamisen quite nicely. | ] | Most of our geiko are out and about by now, but we have a few lagging behind, and a few still who have been booked to stay out later. The Satosi is pretty crowded tonight - I've had Naruto running errands for me all night, and the shops have finally closed up, now, so he keeps coming back to me in a foul mood for having to go to other okiyas to get it. (Apparently, one of the servant boys at the Kaze no Tadaina has been antagonizing him.)
So far he's brought us extra tofu, hair pins, a bottle of tonic to sooth Sakura's headache earlier, and three sacks of rice. I'd like to send him out for another bottle of sake for me but we have enough to keep the customers occupied for the night and he looks exhausted - I think I'll let him rest.
Orihime's became quite the dancer recently...I wonder if her clients have noticed? She hasn't tripped once in the past week, the way I here the girls tell it. (Knock on wood. I hope I didn't jinx it saying that.) She's out almost every night now - Kuukaku, too. Of course, Orihime has been the one to come back the latest, out of both of them. Maa...I'll let them both sleep late tomorrow. (It will be Sunday, after all.) Maybe I'll make Sakura and Shizune make breakfast, too. That'd be a good way to start a Sunday.
Spring is always the busiest time of the year, but summer seems just as crowded because the nights are so long. (That, and I'm not allowed to gamble. Damn you Shizune.) |
